The family of a young man who sadly died in a road traffic collision near Wareham has issued a heartfelt tribute to their loved one.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.42pm on Wednesday 18 February 2026 of a single vehicle collision involving a black Volvo V70 in Morden Road.
A male passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Joshua Blake, was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are continuing to support his family.
The driver of the vehicle – a man aged in his 20s – and another male teenage passenger both sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. They remain in hospital at this time.
Joshua’s family has issued the following tribute: “Joshua had only just celebrated his 18th birthday before he tragically lost his life.
“He leaves behind his loving parents Martin and Caroline, brother Samuel, sister Chloe, his wider family and many friends.
“Joshua had a passion for supercars, which he always took the opportunity to photograph. He enjoyed riding his motorbike.
“He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, always remembered by all who knew him.”
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of the collision, and are urging witnesses as well as anyone with relevant dashcam footage or other information to come forward if they have not already spoken to police.
