A family tribute has been issued for a man who very sadly died in a fatal road traffic collision in Dorchester.
Dorset Police received a report at 7.35am on Friday, 16 May 2025, of a collision in Bridport Road involving a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle.
Emergency services attended, and the cyclist—50-year-old Justin Loveland, who was a teacher—was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he sadly died on the evening of Saturday, 17 May 2025.
Mr. Loveland was Head of Sixth Form at Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis.
A colleague at Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis said Mr Loveland was on his way to work when the incident happened.
His family has issued the following tribute: “Justin was a much-loved son, brother, uncle, and teacher.
“The expressions of sadness and love for Justin from the school, cycling community, and many friends from Dorchester and all across the country have been overwhelming.
“We will miss him hugely.”
