Fancy dress parade and surprise celebrity appearances on day three of Camp Bestival Dorset

  • Aspiring designers filled up Camp Bestival’s first ever Camp Couture workroom as families and children made outfits from recycled materials – with over 100 outfits made across the weekend. It was all leading up to the ultimate fashion show – when a parade of models wearing materials from recycling bins and camping supplies, including bubble wrap ball gowns, tarpaulin trousers and space junk millinery made from bits and bobs.

The Trash Gowns and Drag Dads Fashion Parade on Saturday (27 July) was the ultimate celebration of creativity and fashion, while also sending a strong sustainability message. And there’s more, the best creation won a family ticket for Camp Bestival Dorset 2025.

  • Astronauts, aliens and cosmic explorers descended onto Lulworth Castle’s Lower Magic Meadow – all ready to show off their homemade costumes and outfits in line with this year’s festival theme – intergalactic, aliens and space.
  • Mr Tumble entertained crowds of children at the Castle Stage, before reading a special Cbeebies Bedtime Story in the Camp Bestival CBeebies Bedtime Story Tent.
  • Legendary Rock band The Darkness got crowds going, with lead singer Justin Hawkins putting on a fan’s t-shirt briefly before giving it back to the lucky fan.
  • Iconic TV Presenter Alison Hammond made a surprise appearance in Camp Bestival Dorset’s Bollywood tent on Saturday evening to support son Aidan for his debut festival set. Aidan entertained crowds with one hour of infectious beats and non stop tunes whilst proud mum Alison watched on and partied with festival goers.
  • Pop queen Paloma Faith made her festival debut as a headliner with an explosive set, wearing a fiery red two piece with a red faux fur coat. Ahead of her stage performance, the pop star also gave an intimate talk and book signing on her new book MILF: Motherhood, Identity, Love and F*ckery ahead of her headline set on Camp Bestival’s iconic Castle Stage. The book is a unique take on motherhood and how it correlates to what it means to be a woman in this fierce, funny and passionate volume.
  • Camp Bestival’s final day (Sunday, 28 July) is set to be out of this world, as the Castle stage welcomes kitchen disco divar Sophie Ellis-Bextor, a Funk & Soul house party set by Craig Charles, special guest James Arthur and Pete Tong Ibiza Classics – Jules Buckley & The Essential Orchestra, a UK festival exclusive.
