Officers investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in East Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

At around 9.30pm on Monday 5 August 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Wimborne Road East near Ferndown.

It is reported that a black Audi A1 failed to stop for officers in the area of the Canford Bottom roundabout before it made off towards Stapehill and collided with a blue Vauxhall Zafira near The Pure Drop pub.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the collision scene to be conducted.

A 20-year-old man from Wimborne Minster and an 18-year-old man from Ferndown were both taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira was also taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police Constable Tracey Downer, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “This road traffic collision resulted in serious injuries to those involved and we are continuing to conduct enquiries to establish the full circumstances of how it occurred.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
