What drives me mad, and will of course be far worse for those targeted!, is People confusing others seeking something close to parity, inclusiveness and equality as being an attack on them/their family/their ‘culture’/their country etc etc. It is driven by the rich, powerful, ignorant and Establishment. They absolutely do not want exposed their historic and current privileges. They do not want to address or even begin to think about WHY People are fighting back. They want to punish, oppress, ‘other’, shut-down those exposing the corrupt system they benefit from.
It’s like the People who say, and this is THE most absurd take ever-we should keep politics and sport separate while at the same time saying the issues in sport are merely a reflection of society. Politics is sport, and sport is politics. The People making these daft claims are the privileged and/or those not affected by the issues. Shutting up those pointing it out, rather than dealing head-on with the issues, engaging, listening etc.
Inevitably, this means the classic ‘divide & conquer’. So, it’s ‘looney lefties’ or ‘far left’ to want what conservative countries in Europe have. Old vs young. Workers vs unemployed. Benefits Street. Strikers Vs public. Disabled vs able bodied. Refugees. Asylum seekers. The ill, the unfortunate, the oppressed. Fight it out and blame each other while we continue to get away with it. No one mention the BILLIONS in public money paid to billionaires and companies turning hundreds of millions in profit. No one ask why there is no ‘Banker’s Street’. No one says what about the hundreds of billions wasted on vanity projects, giving contrast to donors etc etc etc. No, blame the poor, disabled, refugees, migrants, foreigners, unemployed, old, young, ethnic minorities etc etc etc.
Why are the media and Westminster getting people to get angry at those on strike, people often using food banks themselves, and not the massive profits, bonuses and wages hoovered up by the bosses?! Because if people were *actually* informed, and not fed distraction after distraction, then those aforementioned people would never be in power.
One classic myth is about migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. So, the UK is not even in the top ten countries in Europe, yet we are the 5th/6th richest country in the world, for accepting refugees and asylum seekers. On top of this, NO, BENEFITS ARE NOT JUST HANDED OUT LIKE YOU READ, the UK has often been the cause of them being refugees and asylum seekers, and unless they are from Ukraine, they don’t even have any means to apply for asylum. This is a massive breech of laws. So, everyone focus on the distraction (“Aren’t desperate foreigners evil?!”) and get angry at entirely the wrong people. EVERY. F***ING TIME.
Deliberately create a record-breaking crisis in the NHS by massively underfunding it, going from being top to not even in the top ten in Europe re funding, AND ramp up extraordinarily expensive privatisation at the same time, while we have 130,000 vacancies, have more docs now trained abroad than in the U.K., put £50,000-odd debt on anyone wanting to train to be a nurse etc, then their wages being less than national average, while putting crazy demands on these heroes while they leave in droves through exhaustion, and we also make it incredibly difficult for foreign workers to replace them, and not training anywhere near the numbers needed….but, you know, blame the heroes striking and get the public to turn on them…
The definition of madness of continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result. Well, a reminder-THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE, ITS VERY, VERY DELIBERATE. How about not allowing them to divide and conquer, eh? How about backing those saving our lives above those destroying them? Or is this “Communism…far left…student politics….idealism “ or any other distracting complete bullsh*t vomited out via our media or Westminster.DO NOT LET THE BAST**DS CONVINCE YOU THAT THE ENEMY IS ANYONE OTHER THEN THEM!
