For those who haven’t heard of Timothée Chalamet, who has been in Lyme Regis for the past two days filming the prequel Wonka, he is one of the most prolific young actors of present times. A true New Yorker having grown up in Hell’s Kitchen he attended the LaGuardia School (the school that Fame was based on).

He began his career as a teen in the series Homeland and went into films with a small part in Interstellar. His breakthrough film for which he was one of the youngest ever Oscar nominees, was playing Elio in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name. He has gone on to star in several other films, most notably: Beautiful Boy; Little Women; the King; Miss Stevens; Ladybird and his latest two out very soon – The French Dispatch and Dune.

At age 25 he has already received many accolades for his work also starring on stage in the Prodigal Son in 2016. Here are my pics from the filming down on the Cobb over the last two days. Although there was a stunt double for many shots these are Timothée.

What an amazing event when Warner Bros came to town.

Will Chalamet give us a reimagining of the character? It is very intriguing and we are definitely curious to see how this project takes shape.  The film is due for release on March 17, 2023.
