A Brexit Party candidate, Stephen Peddie, was found guilty this week of threatening to shoot Labour MP Dawn Butler in the Head. Peddie owns a licensed firearm.

Peddie claimed it was justified in response to spending carried out by the MP on her property, reported by that first class slime ball Toby Young @toadmeister … which turned out to be a complete myth. Young’s post incited the death threat.

Peddie was bailed to await sentencing in February, meanwhile the Brexiteer plans to appeal, if necessary, all the way to the European Court of Human Rights. The irony.

Before switching to the Brexit Party, Peddie was of course a UKIP member and prospective candidate. The myth posted by @toadmeister that incited the death threat was almost ten years old. He continues inexplicably to be employed.

For some reason the only media title that carried the story was the Daily Mail Online. Hence no link.

Peddie, a retired senior banker and management consultant, denied but was convicted of sending an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message by Deputy District Judge Briony Clarke.

Former Labour whip Ms Butler posted a screenshot of the tweet, writing: ‘I received a death threat, with the threat of a bullet to the back of my head.

Peddle suggested shooting a Labour MP in the back of the head would be ‘justified and wholly deserved’ has been found guilty of sending an offensive message.

‘All because Toby Young is peddling an [sic] decade old, incorrect, story about me so that his followers can send threats, you are both SCUM.’

This is exactly what the right wing wanted. Division, chaos, violence, hate….

I am not even sure anymore that Brexit was ever their main aim.
