Four teenage boys have been arrested after two people and their dog were allegedly assaulted in Poole.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on Sunday 4 September 2022 in Bourne Valley Park near to Evering Avenue.

It is reported that a man and woman were walking with their eight-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier when a group of teenagers grabbed and kicked the puppy, causing swelling to its eye.

The dog owners approached the teenagers and were subsequently both reportedly assaulted.

Following enquiries, three boys from Poole – aged 12, 14 and 16 – and a 16-year-old Bournemouth boy were arrested on suspicion of assault and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The three boys from Poole were also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They have all been released under investigation while the investigation continues.
