Fourteen Year Old Boy With Life Changing Injuries Following Collision Near Bridport

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision near Bridport.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.47pm on Monday 17 February 2025 of a road traffic collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian on the A35 near the junction with Shipton Road in Shipton Gorge.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and the pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with what were believed to be life-changing injuries.

Police Sergeant Michael Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have seen the vehicle before the incident or captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to this incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during this period.”
