Free hot drink and pastry for evacuation test volunteers

Volunteers are being sought to help test evacuation procedures at the Waterfront event space in Pier Approach – with a free hot drink and pastry on offer for participants.

The exercise is designed to simulate the evacuation of a well-attended event at Bournemouth’s Waterfront complex – formerly, the site of the IMAX cinema and now home to a variety of events throughout the year.

Volunteers are asked to gather at the Waterfront on Tuesday 12 January at 8.30am. The exercise is anticipated to last a maximum of one hour and participants will be given a voucher at the end for a free tea or coffee and a pastry.

Organisers are hoping that the early start time will attract people on the way to work in town and are appealing to local businesses to spread the word among staff and colleagues – all ages and levels of mobility are welcome.
