Test your agility and strength when Contender Fest, a new three-day festival of fitness and family fun, brings its obstacle course to The Square in Bournemouth Town Centre on August 14.

Would-be contenders can have some fun and get a taste of what they can expect from the full 40-element obstacle course which will be the centrepiece of the new Contender Fest event next month (September).

A selection of the obstacles, which have all been custom-built for the festival, will be set up in The Square – and you can turn up and have a go for free.

Contender Fest founder, Des Burke, said:

“We want to give people an idea of the experience they can look forward to at Contender Fest later this summer and get them fired up for some physical fun.

“The obstacle course we’re putting together is unique, with elements chosen to be challenging – but not defeating – so contenders of every fitness level and ability can take part and feel the buzz of putting themselves to the test and doing something new and exciting.

“We cannot wait to share it with you – so come along and be a Contender!”

Contender Fest is taking place at Parley Lane, near Bournemouth Airport, from 10th to 12th September. There the full 40-element obstacle course will be base for the Contender Games – fun fitness challenges with cash prizes which are at the heart of the new event.

But there are plenty of other attractions at this festival of fitness, fun and feasting! Festival-goers can join classes and training sessions across more than a dozen fitness and wellness disciplines, enjoy family fun and entertainment, and sample many delicious food options too.

A central stage will host performances from musicians, local groups and theatre schools throughout the day, while DJs will get the after party going on the Friday and Saturday evenings. You can also expect fitness-related trade stands, gourmet food stalls, local produce, three speciality bars, a Craft Village, kids mini-obstacle course, fairground rides, and more, set across a generous festival ground.

Tickets are on sale now starting from £12, with half-price tickets for children, under 5s going free, and big discounts for large groups. Visit https://contenderfest.co.uk/ for more information and to buy tickets.
