Weymouth & Portland Borough Council and West Dorset District Council will be hosting its autumn landlords’ seminar on Wednesday 23 September. The free event – open to members of its landlords’ scheme, Landlords’ Local Authority Partnership (LLAP) – will be held at South Walks House offices on South Walks Road, Dorchester between 5.30pm and 8pm.

The evening will begin with a networking opportunity for landlords and property professionals before moving on to a programme of presentations on current issues affecting the private rented sector.

Cllr Kevin Brookes, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council’s Briefholder for Housing, said: “Our landlords’ seminars provide a great opportunity for us to meet, share views, and learn about emerging policies, legislation or any matter affecting the private rented sector.”

Cllr Tim Yarker, West Dorset District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: “Housing is one of the council’s critical services, and working constructively with landlords is crucial to delivering this. So the informative presentations and lively discussion that follows are valued both our landlord partners and the council as way of strengthening our work together.”

The LLAP is free to join and seeks to recognise responsible landlords’ who are committed to maintaining good standards in the private rented sector.

To join, applicants are required to sign a simple declaration agreeing to keep their properties safe and meet their other obligations and responsibilities as landlords.

In return they’ll enjoy benefits such as free quarterly newsletters, invitations to biannual landlords seminars, a dedicated inbox for landlord queries, and priority access to grants and loans.

The landlords’ seminar is an exclusive event for LLAP members only.
Landlords and property professionals who wish to attend but, who aren’t yet members, should visit: www.dorsetforyou.com/417112 to join for free.
