This could have been prevented! Negligence by a Poole tree officer lead to this. An application to remove this tree was submitted due to Fungal brackets on the main stem, the tree had also begun to lean according to the residents son. There were also a number of decay pockets from previous pruning wounds. The tree officer made a brief site visit and ‘kicked’ the fungus off the tree while appearing completely unconcerned about its significance. The roots were like sponge and the limbs have all fractured where the cavities were too. These are the people who control our trade and are suppose to be trusted when it comes to a tree’s safety! What a joke!
