Officers investigating an assault on a teenage girl in Poole are appealing for a Good Samaritan who intervened to come forward.

At around 5.30pm on Sunday 15 May 2022 the 14-year-old victim and a friend were at Upton Recreation Ground in Sea View Road when they were approached by a group of male teenagers, two of whom were on bicycles.

The group attempted to engage the victim in conversation and blocked her path with one of the bikes. The victim attempted to push one of the teenagers out of the way and he kicked her between the legs. She did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police Constable Katie Wallis, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this assault and have obtained further details from the victim. We understand that a man intervened and came to the aid of the victim following the assault and we are keen to identify this individual as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“I would also urge anyone with information relating to this incident to please come forward.”
