South East Dorset Green Party is pleased to announce that they have a candidate standing in the Winton By-election to be held on Thursday 14th November.

Sandra Halehas lived In the Bournemouth area since the early 1980s and is a former pupil of Avonbourne School.  Sandra has raised her family, for many years single-handedly, whilst working in a number of diverse roles. She spent a good deal of her career working for the NHS and a large proportion of this time has been devoted to mental health services.  Alongside a natural concern for individuals, Sandra is also committed to the wider community, involving herself in many issues and campaigns of local and national importance.  In Winton, where she lives, she has been involved with local police, charities and churches in her efforts to help local people.

Among her reasons for standing at this election, Sandra states that“there is now a genuine alternative for the local residents of Winton.  For too long local voters have only been able to choose between two parties – this election provides a real opportunity for change.”
