First for those who do not know Rupert Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch, is a prominent media mogul and business magnate. He was born on March 11, 1931, in Melbourne, Australia. He is best known for founding and leading News Corporation (now known as Fox Corporation), a global media conglomerate.

Murdoch’s media empire has had a significant influence on the media landscape, particularly in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. News Corporation owns numerous media assets, including television networks (such as Fox News and Sky News), newspapers (such as The Wall Street Journal, The Times, and The Sun), publishing houses (such as HarperCollins), and various digital properties.

Over the years, Rupert Murdoch has been known for his conservative political views, which have often shaped the editorial direction of his media outlets. His media empire has been a subject of controversy and criticism for its perceived bias and sensationalism. Murdoch has also been involved in several high-profile business and political scandals throughout his career.

In recent years, Murdoch has handed over more operational control of his media empire to his sons, James and Lachlan Murdoch, as he has taken a step back from day-to-day operations. However, he remains an influential figure in the media industry, and his impact on global media cannot be understated.

Why do politicians suck up to him?

Murdoch has boasted that he is the prime determinator in who wins elections. Win over Murdoch and the chances of becoming PM are increased immeasurably.

Therefore, this begs the question of who is currently seeking favour and who has sought favour in the past?

Well let’s take a look.

It is not a democracy we live in but an oligarch’s playground and we are NOT invited.
