Today, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale were found guilty of brutally murdering British soldier Lee Rigby, an act they claimed was revenge for the killing of Muslims by British and American forces around the world.

Now, we must unite to ensure that their mission is not used to justify more extremism.

Every tribute to Lee reminds us that he lived a life full of love. After his death, his family issued a statement reminding the world that, “Lee would not want people to use his name as an excuse to carry out attacks against others”. Despite these wishes, extremist groups like the EDL continue to use Lee’s murder to fuel their racist agenda, joining his killers in perpetuating a cycle of hate.

Justice has been served, but we can do more to honour Lee’s memory today. Watch and share our video to spread the message that a voice of hope will always be stronger than one of hate.

Today’s verdict is a victory over not just Islamist extremism, but all ideologies of hate.

Anti-Muslim rhetoric from hate groups like the EDL insults Lee Rigby’s memory and the tolerant and accepting way he lived his life. These groups, like Lee’s killers, would have us turn to hate. But as Britons of all backgrounds, colours and religions, it is our duty to stand together and choose hope.

Watch and share this video to remind the world that the extremist voices are the few and We Are The Many:
