A new web page has been unveiled, to mark the launch of the Home In On Housing Programme. This will deliver our Housing Strategy.

On this page you will be able to read about the themes, aims and objectives.

There is also information about each of the projects that make up this programme.

The themes include:

  •  Increasing housing supply
  •  Building healthy communities
  •  Homes for Dorset residents

We have divided the projects into phases. We are currently in Phase One.

New Models of Housing Delivery was one of the first projects to start. It will look at ways Dorset Council can help increase the number of low-cost homes for Dorset residents.

The page will be updated and we will encourage key partners and residents to take part. For example, by sharing expertise, experience and views.

Councillor Gill Taylor, Cabinet Member for Health and Housing said: “This is a bold and ambitious programme of work, to help us progress and deliver what we need to do, as soon as possible.

“There is a lot to cover, and I am pleased we are staring with New Models of Housing Delivery, to address the shortage of affordable homes and other key housing needs.

“This project and others will support open and honest discussions we are having as a council about housing and housing delivery. We will explore all the options carefully, working transparently, as we consider how best to meet the needs of our residents,” she added.
