Health and social care consumer champions, Healthwatch Dorset, invite people across North Dorset to voice their opinions during a meeting at Riversmeet, Gillingham on 27th April.

The event is set to take place from 2-5pm before Healthwatch Dorset’s board meeting which will run from 5-8pm. Healthwatch Dorset is holding the event in order to provide residents across North Dorset with more information on their local Healthwatch as well as collecting their opinions on local health and social care.

Working with local people throughout Dorset, Healthwatch Dorset aims to discover what’s really going on in health and care services across the county.  They offer free independent information to help local people find their way through the system and use this feedback to influence the way local services are provided.

Joyce Guest, Healthwatch Dorset chairperson said:

“We’re keen to promote Healthwatch in North Dorset and gather feedback about health & care in that area. If you’d like to find out more about our work and meet Healthwatch Dorset board members, staff and volunteers, please pop into the leisure centre from 2-5pm”

Over the last year, Healthwatch Dorset has made improvements to GP surgery patient information across Dorset, improved access to dentistry and gathered feedback about homecare from over 700 people across Dorset.

People from across North Dorset are welcomed to join Healthwatch Dorset at this free event taking place on Wednesday 27th April at Riversmeet Leisure Centre, Gillingham. You can visit them from 2-5pm to find out more about Healthwatch Dorset and from 5-8pm, they will be holding their board meeting, which people are welcome to stay for.
