Help create a more sustainable future for Weymouth

In April, Weymouth Town Council launched a Commonplace map to gather people’s views on how they would like to see Weymouth counter climate change – and there’s still time for you to have your say!

The impacts of climate change are already causing serious damage around the world. In response to the climate crisis, Weymouth Town Council declared a climate and ecological emergency and are committed to acting at a local level to reduce the council’s carbon footprint to net zero carbon by 2030.

Do you have an idea or suggestion for tackling the climate crisis in Weymouth? If so, you can complete the survey on the Commonplace website now which helps to map what’s important to you and your local community.

Use the interactive Commonplace map to give your thoughts on things like your local greenspaces, public transport and cycling provision. Drop a pin on the map and complete the survey to help us create a greener, cleaner, healthier and more connected Weymouth for all.

Cllr David Harris, Leader of the Council and spokesperson on the Climate and Ecological Emergency, said: “We need your help to ensure our Climate Change Strategy meets the needs of our local community and reflects your priorities.

“If you have an idea or suggestion for tackling the climate crisis in Weymouth, please take the time to complete our Commonplace survey. With the help of local people, we hope to be able to create a greener and cleaner Weymouth which will be able to be enjoyed by many generations to come.”

Visit our Commonplace website to find out more about this project. The survey will run until 21st July.
