Why Andrew Tate Is So Dangerous to Young Men

Andrew and Tristan Tate Charged with Rape and Human Trafficking Offences in the UK

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been formally charged with multiple serious criminal offences in the United Kingdom, including rape and human trafficking. The charges, authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), relate to incidents alleged to have occurred between 2012 and 2015.

Andrew Tate, 38, faces ten charges, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain, involving three women. His younger brother, Tristan Tate, 36, has been charged with eleven offences, including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking, in relation to one woman.

Bedfordshire Police issued a European Arrest Warrant in 2024 in connection with the case. The alleged offences are said to have taken place during the period when the brothers lived in the UK. According to the CPS, the Romanian courts have ordered their extradition to Britain; however, this will only occur following the conclusion of ongoing criminal proceedings in Romania.

In a statement, a CPS spokesperson confirmed:

“We can confirm that we have authorised charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women. These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.”

The spokesperson also stressed the importance of ensuring a fair trial, stating:

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

The Tate brothers “unequivocally deny” the allegations.

The pair are also facing separate, serious charges in Romania, including allegations of trafficking minors, engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor, and money laundering. Additionally, they are accused of forming a criminal organisation to sexually exploit women in a case that has recently been referred back to Romanian prosecutors.

Lawyer Matt Jury, of McCue Jury & Partners, who represents several British women accusing Andrew Tate of sexual offences, welcomed the CPS’s decision.

“We welcome the clarity from the Crown Prosecution Service that our authorities are working to ensure the Tates face justice here in the UK – they cannot be allowed to escape extradition,” said Jury.

He further criticised past failures by British authorities to act:

“At the same time, we ask once more that CPS admit its mistake in failing to prosecute Tate when he lived in the UK and finally charge him for the rape and assault of the other three women, our clients, who originally filed criminal complaints against him as long ago as 2014 but were failed by the system. They deserve justice, too.”

Representatives for Andrew Tate have been contacted for comment.

The case continues to develop, and the CPS has urged caution in public discussion of the matter while legal proceedings remain ongoing.
