A local cleaning contractor has selected Oakhaven Hospice as its nominated charity of the year and has kick started its charitable donations by presenting a cheque to the charity for £500.
Two Counties Cleaning Services was established in the area over 35 years ago in New Milton and moved four years ago to new headquarters just outside Lymington, with the hospice being located just a few miles away.
Trevor Jackson, Managing Director at Two Counties Cleaning said, “In 2015 I lost my father who founded the company, and my family and I were immensely grateful for the palliative care he received at Oakhaven Hospice and for the love and compassion they showed to us. The work that all hospices do is outstanding, and it is with great pleasure that we will be supporting Oakhaven as our company’s nominated charity this year.”
It costs in the region of £4million to run the hospice each year, with only 10% coming from the NHS, so the lion’s share of this funding is raised through charitable donations. Trevor added, “Many of our key staff knew my father Robin Jackson very well, and they helped raise this money at one of our Christmas parties which was a very touching tribute in his memory. We know that any amount, big or small will contribute towards the Oakhaven team continuing to provide such a wonderful community service to those facing life-limiting illness.”
