The Royal Bournemouth Hospital has invited local independent consumer watchdog Healthwatch Dorset in to collect people’s views on the hospital and its services.

Healthwatch will be in the hospital a couple of days a month for the next six months. The first two dates are Wednesday 5 March from 9am to 1pm and Friday 14 March from 12-4pm when they’ll be talking to people in the main entrance area and main Outpatients department.

You can also use â€ª#‎tellHWD‬ to share your feedback on social media or go to www.healthwatchdorset.co.uk

Patients, relatives, visitors and staff are invited to tell them what they think about the hospital and its services. Healthwatch will tell the hospital what people think is good; what people think is bad; what needs improving and how improvements could be made. Healthwatch will also be working with the hospital’s governors to develop other opportunities to hear from both the public and staff.

Dr. Samuel Johnson, Chair of Healthwatch Dorset, said: “We are pleased that the hospital has invited Healthwatch in to talk to patients, relatives and staff, to find out what people really think of the hospital. We’ll be honest with the hospital and tell them what people think – both good and bad. And we’ll work with the hospital to support them to make the improvements people want and would like to see.”

Paula Shobbrook, Director of Nursing at the Foundation Trust, said: “We are really pleased to be working with Healthwatch and look forward to a long term partnership that is committed to listening and continuing to improve the patient experience at our hospitals.

“We really encourage patients, or their relatives, to give us their feedback during their hospital stay so that, where needed, we can put things right as soon as possible. However, we want to build on the improvement that we have already made so it’s important we hear openly and honestly from all individuals who have experienced our hospitals.”
