I spent half an hour talking to a homeless ex Royal Engineer

Lovely bloke, fallen on hard times since the death of his son on the 20th December last year. He asked about the outcome of the election and was almost in tears when I told him. He can’t understand why the government don’t care about him and others like him, and now he doesn’t understand why the public have voted them back in. He’s served his country, worked all his life and paid his taxes all along. I almost cried for him. I just hope I left him in no doubt that many of us do care.

Good luck Woody. I hope you manage to escape your situation. There but for the grace of God go all of us.
