I’ve just complained to the BBC

A number of marches took place across the UK on Saturday 16th April as part the People’s Assembly’s health, homes, jobs and education protest. Our common goal is “fighting for a world that puts people and the planet first” and, as this is in direct conflict with the austerity measures and policies made by our current Tory government, we are reclaiming our streets, across our nation to demonstrate our dissatisfaction. We are also dismayed and appalled by the tax avoidance/evasion practices carried out by the PM & his associates; especially when ordinary people are being so adversely affected by the austerity measures enforced on us by this corrupt band of ministers aka the current Tory Government.

My complaint is that the BBC did not provide any detailed coverage of these events; in particular, the London march where 150k ordinary people gathered together to express our dissatisfaction and culminating in speeches by erudite speakers, including our shadow chancellor, addressing the huge crowd at Trafalgar Square.

We are forced to pay our licence fee and yet the British Broadcasting Corporation is quite unable to provide us with impartial, full and detailed report, rather than “news stories”, on your News channels/websites/ other media. This needs to change, especially as Russia Today has provided excellent coverage of our activities.

Many of us have stopped watching the BBC’s “News” for many years as we have found it to be biased towards Tory rhetoric and frankly, the quality of the reporting is poor.

I suggest that you apologise immediately and write and film a retrospective, full and detailed account of these protests. I can very easily provide you with media and interviewees and, as you appear to lack quality journalism, I am certain we can assist you with this too as members of the people’s assembly are a talented, intelligent bunch with critical appraisal skills and a heart for social justice and equality.
