AND I MANAGED TO GET JACOB REES-MOGG TO AGREE THAT UK RENEWABLE ENERGY SOFTWARE HAS BEEN A HUGE ECONOMIC SUCCESS FOR BRITAIN!
I managed to tell GB News viewers that their electricity bills are sky-high because the Tories placed nearly £1,200 of brown levies onto their bills.
This has meant that the average wholesale cost (pre-Iran) of supplying a family’s energy of £600 ends up being about £1,800, due to things like VAT, bad-debt payments, Tory privatisation levy of about £600, nuclear levies, etc.
The smaller insulation and legacy green levies applied by the Tories to green electricity have been removed by Labour.
The extraordinary thing about this debate was that Rees-Mogg was fighting against the ability of homeowners to access cheaper tariffs on the market using smart meters, calling this “controlling” !!
In other words, he was in favour of restricting the market by banning smart meters!
Smart meters enable night-time charging of EVs, saving them a fortune and saving the grid a fortune, as new power stations do not have to be built to charge EBs at peak hours!
The software I mentioned in the programme, was developed by UK power company Octopus to manage smart meters operating EVs and home solar billing and variable tariffs. It just got launched on the stock exchange and got valued at £8 BILLION!
I will keep engaging with right-wing media to advocate for truth on the clean green transition and the urgency of it for climate protection.
