For the attention of all those defending Boris last night claiming “He is doing his best.” And delusionally thinking the government has done a good job.
Here’s the FACTs
1) Both South Korea and Japan are much closer to China than the UK, therefore had less time to react to the threat of covid19.
2) The UK has a population of 66.6 million and a population density of 727 people per square mile.
3) South Korea has a population which is a similar size to the UK (51.64 million)
4) South Korea’s population density is higher than the UK (1,302 people per square mile)
5) Japan has nearly twice the population of the UK (126 million)
6) Japan has a higher population density than the UK. (862 people per square mile.)
7) The UK has the highest death toll in Europe and the second highest in the world only after America.
8) There is 220 million more people in America than there is in the UK.
9) South Korea and Japan immediately implemented a strategy of “test, trace, isolate.”
10) The UK government gave up on a strategy of “test, trace, isolate.”
11) South Korea and Japan immediately implemented a lockdown.
11) The UK government didn’t immediately implement any kind of lockdown measures.
12) South Korean death toll: 256
13) Japanese death toll: 633
14) UK death toll: 31,855
If Boris is doing his best I really wouldn’t like to see him do his worst…
