I am a shop steward for the NHS in Edinburgh and I am being expelled by my union, the GMB, as an anti-Semite, for criticising Israel. The video explains how this has all come to pass.
Readers may wonder how I came to be charged. The GMB union, popularly known as the military wing of the Labour Party, is, as the Times of 29.12.18 noted determined to expel me over anti-Semitism. I discovered at the GMB hearing in Glasgow that the reason I was in the dock was because of a complaint lodged against me on 28th Sept. I trawled back through my correspondence to find out what I’d done that day and realised on that date I had lodged this complaint with Ms Formby, General Secretary of the Labour Party, about the Jewish Labour Movement. Who did I send it to? Labour’s complaints unit, plus all NEC members, including Rhea Wolfson.
Quite separately, a GMB mole informed that the GMB officer who had lodged the complaint against me for anti-Semitism was…. Rhea Wolfson!
Of course, when I wrote to all NEC members back in September 2018, I had been unaware that Ms Wolfson was a leading light in the Jewish Labour Movement and I believe, a raving Zionist. I have compiled a dossier on Rhea; read it here. In any event, it is heart-warming to know that one of the NEC, at least, has been reading and acting upon my emails.
Finally, if you want to help me beat this IHRA, you can download here a pdf of the video flyer promoting it (with clickable links) – if you want to forward it onto your friends using email, please do. Posting the link to the film on social media as well would be helpful: there’s a jpg for that here.
Tony Greenstein of LAW described the film as “essential viewing for those who believe in freedom of speech”. The film director Ken Loach said “Your case is made very clearly and is unanswerable. Pete, your position is justified and has to be defended. Solidarity!” The Spanish subtitles are to aid distribution in South America and the USA.
I hope you can find 20 minutes to watch it.
