Image appeal following assaults near Wimborne

A man has come forward following an image appeal in relation to reported assaults near Wimborne.

It was reported that at around 5.30pm on Sunday 25 July 2021 a man and a woman aged in their 30s were running along Cowgrove Road from Pamphill toward Wimborne when they noticed a cyclist coming in the opposite direction as they approached Eye Bridge. The cyclist reportedly shouted at them to move and as he passed he allegedly punched the woman to the back of the head.

It was reported that he then threw his bike down and approached the man before also punching him to the face.

Neither of the victims sustained any injuries that required medical attention.

Following an image appeal, a local man aged in his 50s has now come forward and is assisting officers with their investigation. No arrests have been made.
