Officers investigating a public order incident at a park in Poole are issuing an image of a man they would like to speak to.

A woman aged in her 30s was running through Baiter Park with her German Shepherd dog on a lead at around 6.50pm on Sunday 29 March 2020 when a white dog, described as a Shepherd-type dog, approached them in an aggressive manner.

The woman was unable to leave the immediate area as she wanted to avoid the dog and a man who was with the dog was reportedly verbally abusive toward her and refused to put it on a lead.

The victim was subjected to verbal abuse for around five to ten minutes and a woman who was with the man and the dog was also reportedly abusive toward her.

The man eventually put his dog on the lead and they left the area.

Police Constable Natalie Shaw, of Poole police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and are now releasing an image of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us. I would also urge the man pictured to come forward so we can take his account and establish the full circumstances of what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55200048352. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

  1. That looks like a Samoyed to me. Same as my dog. I would be very surprised if it was aggressive. They rarely are. If she had a german shepherd snd the samoyed “was” aggressive to it i would think the samoyed would come off a lot worse! Some people just get nasty about dogs being off lead if they always keep theirs on a lead!

  2. Appreciating the dedication you put into your blog and in depth information you present. It’s nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same unwanted rehashed material. Fantastic read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
