Increasing Demand for Charity’s Breakfast Provision

Since 2011 Routes to Roots has offered all verified rough sleepers in Poole a full English Breakfast at the Fisherman Café on Poole Quay and this provision continues to be an extremely important part of R2R’s outreach work to rough sleepers over the winter months.

In 2015-16 the charity saw a rise in the numbers accessing this service and in the number of breakfasts claimed, up by 11% to 52 individuals and by 19% to 901 breakfasts. R2R knows that homelessness is an issue across the country and Poole is no exception to the ever-increasing numbers who find themselves without permanent accommodation.

Whilst we are now just beginning to enjoy Summer, Routes to Roots is already looking ahead and aims to continue to provide this very much needed service to Poole’s rough sleepers again this coming Winter.
