After a winter break, local food producers and makers will be back in Weymouth Farmers and Makers Market this Sunday 13th March at 10am.

Alison Calder of Best in Dorset said  “ Our first Market of 2022 and it is great to be back. We have some new local traders and look forward to introducing them to our Weymouth regular shoppers. The support from local people has been fantastic”

There is also the chance for Young people to get involved. National Market Traders Federation are inviting Young traders to get involved and they could take part in a national competition. For details see the Facebook site.

“Research shows that Farmers and Makers Markets increase footfall into Town Centres, boost the economy, and they also give small businesses a chance to show what they can do and meet new customers” said Chris Wilson, of the resident led Weymouth Area Development Trust, “That’s why we supported this and it’s great it has become a monthly fixture in Weymouth’s calendar, second Sunday of every month.”

The market has a real community feel with everything from cheese makers and preserves, to children’s authors signing their own books.

Caroline Richards of Dorset Food and Drink said “We are delighted to welcome local producers into Weymouth. Dorset has some of the best food producers in the country and we are looking forward to a great day.”
