A brand new production of Jack and the Beanstalk is coming to the Pavilion Theatre Weymouth in December 2012 directed and produced by The Magic Beans Pantomime Company, from Sevenoaks.  The new producers ran the Panto Factor in September which was a huge success with the Grand Finale being held at the Weymouth Pavilion on 7th October.  Through this innovative audition process two leading cast members were discovered  Alexia Collard 21 from London as Princess Apricot and Tom Riley 22 Torquay  as Jack Trott.

Alexia Collard said It feels incredible! To think that I won, and will be playing the part of Princess Apricot is just insane.  I just want to give my all this Christmas, so the people of Weymouth can experience everything this Panto has to offer. I know for sure they can expect a lot of fun, especially with my cheesy grin!”

Pantomime

Rehearsals start later this month with the opening night scheduled for Saturday 15th December 2012 at 3pm. An extra show has already been added on 18th December at 10.30am especially for school children at child friendly prices…  Jamie Alexander Wilson who is the producerof the show said “Children are the magic ingredient in any successful pantomime and therefore I wanted to ensure that as many children as possible had the opportunity to see the show with their school friends.  There are four key elements to every Magic Bean production,  Story, Casting, Music and Quality.  It is very exciting that our first production in Weymouth will be Jack and the Beanstalk, a traditional pantomime story with a modern twist.”

The cast includes Lynne McGranger, who has played Irene in Home and Away for twenty years. She will star as the panto baddie Fairy Fleshcreep! Lynne has appeared in major pantomimes all over the UK, and is looking forward to spending Christmas in Weymouth.

She will be joined by X Factor finalist and platinum selling recording artist Andy Abraham, who will play King Crumble.
Anna Kumble, as BRIT Award nominated 90’s pop star Lolly, was the biggest selling female recording artists of 1999. She’ll be joining Lynne and Andy, playing Fairy Fabulous.
