George W Bush once said.. “you can fool some of the people all of time and these are the ones we’ll concentrate on” Today, 10th June proves his point. Looking out of the window this morning I saw serid ranks of wheelie bins and boxes on the verges, roads and driveways. Many, many householders doing exactly what they were told by the Dorset Waste Partnership. All these people working for nothing separating their waste in to space consuming bins at the behest of DWP. DWP, who have no legal authority whatsoever, no powers of compulsion or anything else for that matter have, by a clever ruse of glossy brochures and ‘Big Society’ propaganda succeeded in conning the majority. Everyone I have spoken to has done nothing but whinge about these bins and yet not ONE has done any investigation or said NO, GET LOST DWP. Hilary Cox, a nondescript jobsworth within DWP has said “people adapted quickly” and “change can take a while to get used to”. The Nazis and Stalin said the same!
My point is this…. there is NO legislation in place for householders to sort their waste and yet DWP use environmental, emotional blackmail to imply it is your duty to help. Get lost!Pay me rent for the space taken, pay me a wage for the sorting. Wasn’t slave labour abolished by Wilberforce? The Dorset Councils are using DWP as a Trojan Horse, their recycling rates may have doubled but where is all this ‘double income’ reflected in your Council Tax? Of course, it isn’t.
There is a legal requirement for Councils to recycle but you have all fallen into the trap of helping do their job for them, by sorting, for FREE and you all still pay your full Council Tax. Theft at both ends, how clever.
No DWP bins at this property, no chance and guess what?
Along came the NEW, EXPENSIVE truck with the DWP yellow visivested collectors, all my waste was collected in my own plastic bin, no problem.
Interestingly, I watched very closely, you could put ALL your waste in to one wheelie bin, they wheel it to the truck, it goes in to a lifter mechanism and….. gone.
So, who is fooling who DWP or whoever you really are ?
