Detectives investigating a robbery in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The victim – a local man in his 30s – was walking near to Westcliffe gardens at around 4.30pm on Friday 25 June 2021 toward the direction of the pier when he was approached by two unknown men.

One of the men pulled out a knife and put it in the direction of the victim’s upper body while demanding his wallet and phone, which the victim handed over. The offenders then left the scene toward the zigzag.

One of the offenders is described as white, five feet 10 inches tall, in his mid-30s and of skinny build. He has a shaved head, long fingers and a big nose. He was wearing a black tracksuit and a man bag.

The second man is also described as white, but was wearing a navy blue tracksuit.

Detective Constable Phillip Riggs, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim was very shaken up by the incident.

“I am making a number of enquiries, including looking for CCTV, to progress my investigation.

“As this happened in the afternoon, I am hoping somebody may have witnessed the incident or seen the described men in the area at the time.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant information to please get in touch with police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210101529.
