Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Dorset AONB, our Landscapes for Life photo competition is looking to capture the landscape that is a big part of YOUR life.

Sixty years ago, almost half of Dorset was officially recognised as OUTSTANDING – an astonishing mix of beautiful landscapes and great views. As part of the 60th anniversary celebrations, we are keen to find out what YOU think is so special about the AONB landscape.

Our Landscapes for Life photo competition has given us an amazing insight into your favourite landscapes, with over 400 images entered into the OPEN category. A big THANK YOU to everyone who took part, we are delighted to announce the Winners, a fantastic selection of landscapes throughout the seasons. You can see the winners and all 60 of the selected images in our exhibition at Durlston Castle in August 2020 and Dorchester in Spring 2021.

Calling all Snappy Teenagers!Due to Covid-19, some elements of this photo competition have been delayed and  the YOUTH category deadline has been extended to 1st November 2020.  If you are 18 and under, please do enter our photo competition to show us what you love about the Dorset landscape!

You don’t need fancy camera equipment to take good photos – your mobile phone is a great way to capture the moment and often to stunning effect.  To support a budding young photographer, we have a special prize for the winner of the Youth Category – a Kodak PixPro AZ901 camera – and Runner Up Prizes of vouchers for photographic equipment.
