Sherrens the Printers have been established since 1837 and now in their 180th year they have acquired Weyprint another long established printing business in Weymouth.

In 2011 business partners Andy Sharpe and Clive Garman took over Sherrens the Printers. The partners have been in the printing business all of their working life and therefore were keen to maintain the Sherrens brand and bring 21stcentury printing technology to the business.

Over the past six years the company really has grown from strength to strength and earlier this year an opportunity arose to acquire the printing side of the Weyprint business which has been located in Caroline Place, Weymouth for several years.

Clive Garman, Director of Sherrens the Printers and Weyprint said “The opportunity was just too good to miss.  Andy and I have not only strengthened the services that Sherrens can deliver but have also retained a well-known Weymouth print business, Weyprint and kept on 2 full time employees who relocated to the Sherrens print business at South Park, Avon Close on the Granby Industrial Estate.  Weyprint printing has relocated to Sherrens, but the embroidery side of the business will remain at Caroline place under the new name of “Dorset Schoolwear EmbroiderYes”.  Sherrens will retain a “print and go” service in Caroline place and also act as a collection point for customers.  We are very excited to offer extended services to our customers in addition to more general printing processes, like holographic foiling and embossing techniques.”

Sherrens the Printers are now the longest surviving printers in Weymouth.  Many other well-known brands such as Prontaprint, Comptons, and Jeffrey Bros have sadly closed over the years but Sherrens has stood the test of time.

Andy Sharpe, Director of Sherrens the Printers and Weyprint said “ We are a  “Walk-in, One stop print shop” offering printing services from 1 to 100,000 plus copies.  At our facility on Granby Industrial Estate we offer customers free parking, free wi fi and it is easy to contact us via telephone, on line or via our social media links.  At Sherrens we really can do anything from flyers, wedding invitations, and corporate stationery to large format printing and signage.  We will retain the Weyprint name for the foreseeable future”.

Sherrens are now well placed for the future, expanding their workforce, increasing their print capacity and speed with the added bonus of the opportunity of meeting a new customer base. It is hoped that Sherrens will be employing one or maybe two Apprentices to learn the print business in the near future.
