Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision near Winfrith Newburgh.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.33pm on Thursday 18 August 2022 of a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a grey Vauxhall Astra on the A352 between the Texaco garage and the Winfrith Newburgh crossroads.
The driver of the Ford – a woman aged in her 80s – was taken to hospital by air ambulance in a life-threatening condition.
Two occupants of the Vauxhall have been taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
The road is currently closed to allow emergency services to treat the injured people and safely deal with the incident.
Police Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “Our enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I am appealing to any motorists who witnessed what happened, or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the incident, to please get in touch.
“Also, I would urge anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please come forward.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closure is in place. This is absolutely necessary to allow us to carry out a thorough examination of the scene.”
