Liz Truss will put the UK economy in to the hands of… Patrick Minford

What does one do with a person who gets all the big calls wrong?

Quote him as author of your macro economic strategy of course.

This Patrick Minford:

He is a British macroeconomist who is professor of applied economics at Cardiff Business School and apparently an expert WE should listen to. After all, the trillions of pounds worth of debt the UK is in, depleted public services, cost of living crisis, huge disparity between super rich and the rest of us… are all down to people like him.

He believes in a complete illusion he calls the ‘free market’

A supporter of the Poll tax, Minford is on the board of the opaque group Reform, who appear reticent to be open about where their money comes from. Guess who was a previous deputy director of that organisation? Liz Truss.

The problem with people like Truss quoting a Business professor such as Minford, having opposed his ideas for so long (he was a Leaver she a Remainer; he was a devout right winger, she was a Lib Dem), is that she comes across as yet another opportunist who will take us further in to despair whilst getting very rich very quickly at our expense.

Yet again we have been warned.
