A key route through Dorset was shut down shortly after 1:15 pm today following a serious collision involving four vehicles.
Police have confirmed that three individuals were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area as the A35 remains closed between the A352 junction and Stinsford Roundabout near Dorchester.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 1:15 pm to reports of a four-vehicle collision at Stinsford Roundabout. Emergency services are at the scene, and road closures have been implemented. Three people are being transported to hospital for treatment. Vehicle recovery has also been requested.”
Dorchester Fire Station also issued a warning, stating: “The A35 between the A352 junction and Stinsford Roundabout is currently closed due to a road traffic collision. Please avoid the area to allow emergency services to work safely.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed the severity of the injuries or the cause of the crash. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes while recovery and investigation efforts continue.
