Officers investigating the theft of a vehicle in Wimborne are appealing to the public for information regarding its whereabouts.

It is reported that at approximately 10.15am on Monday 14 August 2023, a silver Volvo was stolen from the car park in High Street.

A 32-year-old man from Fordingbridge has been arrested and released on police bail.

Officers are keen to find the vehicle and return it to its owner. The vehicle is a silver Volvo 940 estate with black wing mirrors, a tow bar, and RSPB stickers in the window.

Police Constable Kate Schofield, of the Dorset Rural Crime Team, said: “This has been a particularly distressing and inconvenient time for the victim, who has lost the use of their day-to-day vehicle.

“We carried out a number of enquiries in relation to this incident which led to a man being arrested. However, I am still keen to find the vehicle and return it to its owner.

“I would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that might assist us with our investigation. I also make a similar plea to any members of the public who may have seen a vehicle matching this description being sold in suspicious circumstances to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230128029. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
