Man arrested following assault on woman in Sherborne

Detectives investigating a reported assault in Sherborne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 11am on Thursday 26 October 2023 in Horsecastles Lane.

It is reported that the victim – a woman aged in her 50s – was assaulted by a man who is known to her. She sustained bruising.

Following enquiries, a 54-year-old man from Sherborne was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset County CID, said: “We have now obtained further details from the victim about the reported incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or may have captured anything on CCTV or dashcam footage, to please get in touch.”
