Man arrested following attempted strangulation in Weymouth pub

Officers investigating an alleged assault at a pub in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.07pm on Saturday 22 July 2023 that a woman had been grabbed round the neck by a man in the Kings Arms pub in Trinity Road.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. A 35-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of intentional strangulation and he has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

Police Constable Robert Langridge, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the pub at the time and has information to help my enquiries to please get in touch.”
