Lee Twamley, the prominent activist behind a campaign to fly flags in protest against illegal immigration, is a convicted criminal who served a jail sentence for attempting to smuggle migrants into the UK, exposing a breathtaking level of hypocrisy and manipulation.
Twamley is a key figure in ‘Churchill’s Lions’, a group that has been draping Manchester’s streets in Union Jacks and St. George’s Crosses. Under the TikTok alias ‘Salford T-Bone’, he passionately appeals for donations, claiming the group’s mission is to ‘protect our culture’ and support ‘the stopping of small boats’ and ‘the stopping of illegal immigrants abusing our kids and woman’.

The Crimes: A Shameless Smuggling Ring
The gang’s operations were thwarted by vigilant Border Force officers in Coquelles, France. Their first attempt, on 15th June 2014, saw Wayne and Caroline Parker arrested after officers discovered eleven Vietnamese nationals – eight men, two women, and a child – hidden inside their hire van.
Less than a week later, on 21st June 2014, the gang tried again. On this occasion, Lee Twamley and Lauren Wall were arrested after officers found four Vietnamese nationals concealed underneath camping gear in the back of their Ford Connect van. Shockingly, these four individuals were part of the same group intercepted just days earlier.
All 15 migrants were refused entry to the UK. A thorough investigation, which included examining mobile phone records, linked the two attempts and identified Terry Robinson as the ringleader. The entire gang was brought to justice at Manchester Crown Court on 9th September 2016, where they pleaded guilty to conspiring to facilitate illegal entry into the UK. The group was sentenced to a total of seven years and eight months imprisonment, with Twamley himself receiving a 20-month jail term.
At the time, Ben Thomas of Immigration Enforcement stated: “This shameless gang plotted to bring desperate people into the UK illegally purely for their own financial gain… This investigation demonstrates that the criminal gangs behind this trade will be caught and put before the courts.”

He claims his actions are excusable because his victims were allegedly not coming to “claim benefits or abuse our woman and kids.” This twisted logic reveals a man who sees no problem with exploiting vulnerable people for financial gain, so long as he can later invent a distinction to suit his new narrative.
Lee Twamley is not a patriot; he is a convicted people smuggler and a pretend patriot. His campaign is a transparent, manipulative attempt to launder his reputation and cynically capitalise on public concern after having been personally condemned for the very crime he now claims to oppose.
