Man charged following discovery of cannabis factory in Christchurch

A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with discovery of a cannabis factory in Christchurch.

We were called at 8.39am on Friday 7 April 2023 to reports of a suspected cannabis factory at a premises in Groveley Road. 

Officers attended and discovered a large-scale operation cultivating what is believed to be cannabis plants.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with production of the class B drug cannabis. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 10 April 2023.

A cordon remains in place while a search of the unit is carried out and the local community can expect to see an increased level of police activity over the coming days.

Detective Constable Evelyn Hoslett, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We will continue to do all we can to tackle the suspected supply of illegal drugs in our communities and ensure those reported to be involved are dealt with robustly. If any members of the public have any information about suspected drug misuse or supply offences, please come forward and tell us.”
