Man charged following serious injury collision near Shaftesbury

A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with a serious road traffic collision near Shaftesbury.

The incident involving three cars occurred on the A350 near to the Littledown Business Park was reported at 3.08pm on Thursday 25 May 2023.

Emergency services attended, and a woman aged in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two other people were also treated for minor injuries.

A 40-year-old man from Hastings in Sussex was arrested in connection with the incident and, following an investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT), he has been charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
