Man charged with attemped murder of Poole and Bournemouth men

One man has been charged and further arrests have been made following an investigation by detectives into an alleged assault in Boscombe.

It is reported that at around 8.55pm on Monday 29 January 2024, a fight occurred in Christchurch Road in the Boscombe precinct.

Two men – aged in their 20s and 30s from Bournemouth and Poole – sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment. They sustained serious injuries that are not life-threatening.

It was further reported that a third man, aged in his 40s, sustained injuries during the incident that are not life-threatening.

Following enquiries, a 21-year-old man from Bournemouth has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 2 February 2024.

A 21-year-old man from Bournemouth, who was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, and two men – aged 22 and 24 also from Bournemouth – who were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent have all been released from the investigation without charge.

As the investigation continues, detectives have arrested four further men from Bournemouth. Three of the men – aged 20, 22 and 25 – have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. All four men remain in police custody.
