Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward as they continue to investigate a serious injury collision in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.10pm on Monday 7 October 2024 of a collision involving a black Range Rover and a pedestrian in Etches Close, at the junction of Western Avenue.

It was reported that the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – a man aged in his 20s from Christchurch – was airlifted to hospital with life-changing injuries. His next of kin has been informed.

Following enquiries, two men – aged 20 and 54 from Bournemouth – were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving offences. They remain in police custody.

The arrested men are known to the victim.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell, of BCP CID, said: “We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries into the circumstances of this incident and we would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“We are aware that there may be footage of this incident that is circulating within the community. I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police as well as anyone who might have captured any relevant footage on home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam to speak to us.

“This footage can be uploaded directly to our Major Incident Public Portal page at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/55HQ24C01-PO1.

“Anyone with information can also speak to us in confidence or submit it anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
