Man in His 20’s Arrested Following Acts of Outraging Public Decency On Weymouth Beach

Local officers are investigating reported incidents involving allegations of outraging public decency on a beach in Weymouth and are appealing for information from the public.

Dorset Police received a report that between 4.15pm and 5.15pm on Thursday 19 June 2025 a man was seen performing an indecent act while others were present at Castle Cove Beach.

It was further reported that a similar incident had occurred previously at the same location, involving a man of a similar description, on Friday 2 May 2025.

Following enquiries by the local neighbourhood policing team, a man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. He has been released on police bail as further investigative work is conducted.

Police Constable Billy Taylor, of the Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Our officers responded to these reports and, following enquiries, we have made an arrest in connection with this matter.

“We are continuing our investigation, and I would urge any witnesses to please contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any similar incidents or further suspicious activity in the area during recent weeks.”
