Man in his 50’s suffers collapsed lung following assault in Sherborne

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an assault in Sherborne.

At around 10.35pm on Saturday 10 October 2020 an altercation occurred outside Olivers on Cheap Street between a male victim and two men.

It is reported that the offenders punched the man in the face. The victim fell to the ground and was then kicked several times.

The victim, aged in his 50s, sustained broken ribs, a collapsed lung and bruising to his face. He was taken to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.

No arrests have been made. 

Detective Constable Kirsty Wilson, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am making enquiries in relation to this incident, including CCTV searches. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed what happened to please contact Dorset Police.”
